Latest Update

Checking out Into the Sea

Hey everyone,

We have a couple of things we wanted to update everyone with. In the last update we mentioned that we wanted to do a big concert, where we would bring in some bands from Guadalajara and have some local bands play as well, while incorporating a social help project. One major key to that was working with the government to support us. Andy and I met with a gentlemen from the government last Tuesday and presented our ideas and needs to him. The guy was extremely supportive of what we want to, and said that they would provide basically everything we need, from the stage, a sound system, security, and even paying for the promotion of the event. This project is going to be really cool because the people who are connected to the movement are going to be the staff, so it is a great way to get more people involved with what we are doing. The concert is going to be a toy drive, collecting toys for underprivileged kids. We are planning on doing it December 15th.

Another cool social help opportunity came up this last week too. We have been wanting to find ways to help people at the hospitals here. People can go to a hospital and receive care, but sometimes they can’t afford things like FOOD or even the medicines they need. One of Andy’s friends told him this week that we can go and meet with one of the people in charge of the hospital to see how we can help meet some physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

It is a true blessing to see that the things we set out to do are happening. We were really shown this last Sunday again. We decided to play in the park where before we basically met all the people who are now a part of the movement. Except this time the people we met the first time were there helping us. It was amazing to see, because they were the ones going around meeting people and telling them about what we are about, getting peoples’ contact information. They are doing what we did for them. We love seeing them excited about everything and wanting to spread The Movement. Last night one of the guys brought his sister to our Friday night hang out. It touched us because we had been praying for her about struggles she had been going through. It showed us that the movement is spiritually meaningful for these guys that they our willing to bring their own family members. We have been reading Matthew 5-6 for the past month, and in this part of the Bible is where Jesus gives his most radical teachings about religion and what it means to follow God. Normally I would think people would be turned off by Jesus, by what he says in those scriptures, but it seems like it has been the opposite with our group.  People have been understanding and grasping these things.

Thank you guys again for your support and prayers.

Well that is awesome…the Lord is really opening doors for your ministry. It is amazing, when we think we know what our plans are, and our sovereign LORD steps in and protects us, guides us and leads us into total fulfillment.
